Anzac Day in the Park

An enjoyable and free way for families from the Lenah Valley community and surrounding suburbs to commemorate ANZAC day.

In addition to community games and a BBQ, people will be invited to:

  • Create and place a poppy in what will be a steadily growing field of red flowers throughout the event
  • Tie a yellow ribbon for peace around one of the old trees in the park.
  • Write a personal message of thanks to those who have served in a specially created “Thank You book” which will be presented to a representative from the RSL.
  • Sample an ANZAC biscuit with a free cuppa
  • Take home a balloon donkey as a reminder of Simpson’s donkey
  • Have a poppy painted on your face or arm
  • Enjoy a free BBQ
  • Participate in Community games and activities

We are hoping that this small event might be a simple way to help our kids and families express what is in their heart on this day. We also hope it will continue to facilitate the growing sense of community in this suburb.
