The front page of yesterday’s #hobartmercury declared “Aged Care Disgrace” and it was right… but the issues are deeper than simply whether aged care facilities are properly managed.
Matt reads a letter to the editor in today’s paper calling for a fundamental paradigm shift in how we see aged care… and he points out that the biblical pattern of aged care is made almost impossible by the way we have structured our society.
Matt is suggesting that the church might be able to demonstrate new ways forward based on the biblical approach but it will take courage and commitment.
The way we care for our older people is anti-biblical.
