Our leaders are urging the Citywide family to come together in prayer, acknowledging our dependence on God to overcome challenges and move forward with faith. We recognize that as a church, we are facing crucial decisions, including presenting a balanced budget at our December 8 budget meeting and discerning God’s will for the future of our back block. In this season, we believe it’s vital to unify as a church body in seeking God’s guidance and provision.
This month, we invite everyone to engage in four key spiritual practices:
- First, prayer: we are encouraging deep, reflective prayer, including worship, repentance, and listening for God’s voice.
- Second, fasting: we ask each person to choose a day each week to fast, surrendering themselves to God in this tangible way.
- Third, giving: whether it’s financial contributions or time, we invite everyone to actively ask God what they can offer.
- Finally, we are asking everyone to bring someone new to church, sharing the love of Christ with those who may not yet know Him.
As you can tell, this is more than just a spiritual exercise; it’s a call to action. By dedicating ourselves to these practices, we position ourselves for God to work in our lives and church. This month is an opportunity to deepen our relationship with Jesus, allowing Him to lead us in all aspects of life as we trust in His guidance and provision.
Opportunities for prayer are available throughout the month, with several gatherings happening at different times and locations:

Joining together daily;
In addition to the weekly gatherings and personal commitments, we are introducing a special daily practice for this month of prayer. At 3:14 p.m. each day, we are asking everyone to set an alarm on their phones as a reminder to pause and pray through Ephesians 3:14-21. This passage is a powerful prayer for strength, love, and fullness in Christ, and by praying it together at the same time each day, we unite our hearts and minds in seeking God’s presence and power for ourselves, our church, and our community.
Walk the world
Baptist Mission Australia are also calling the churches of Australia to pray for their local communities and also the world through WALK THE WORLD in November. We are also encouraging our people to use this as a great impetus to pray for our Neighbours.
