“Listen to me, all who hope for deliverance- all who seek the LORD!
Consider the rock from which you were cut, the quarry from which you were mined.”
Isaiah 51:1 NLT
As we prepare to move forward into an exciting future, we are taking a weekend to understand the history of the Baptist church in Tasmania and get a sense of how that history prepares us for our future.

Perth Baptist church is the birthplace of the Tasmanian Baptist Union and, in the 1950’s, was the centre of Tasmanian Baptist Youth and Young Adults’ social experience through Easter Camps.
A highlight of those Easter camps was the time spent at the South Esk River, which is only 200 meters from the church’s front door.
During our camp, we will stroll along the same river to the magnificent Eskliegh Estate, the home of the Gibson family, who funded the building of many of Tasmania’s Baptist churches and paid for their first Pastors.

FREE Accommodation at Perth Baptist

Perth Baptist Church has kindly offered to use their rear paddock area for free camping. There will be toilets and power available.
This picture from Google Maps indicates the size of the paddock, which should accommodate most people who want to camp or caravan.
Perth Baptist church also has a hall over the road, which we will use for our meals and refreshments. That hall also has modern toilet facilities.
If there is a significant amount of rain before the camp, our free camping option will move to Longford Baptist church, which has a sealed carpark and a paddock for camping. Toilets and power will also be available there.
