You’re the God of this City

You’re the God of this city
You’re the King of these people
You’re the Lord of this nation

You’re the light in this darkness
You’re the hope to the hopeless
You’re the peace to the restless

There is no one like our God
There is no one like You God

Greater things have yet to come
And greater things have still to be done in this city
Greater things have yet to come
And greater things have still to be done here

You’re the Lord of creation
The Creator of all things
You’re the King above all kings
You are

You’re the Lord of creation

The Creator of all things You’re the King above all kings You are

You’re the strength in the weakness You’re the love to the broken You’re the joy in the sadness You areYou’re the strength in the weakness
You’re the love to the broken
You’re the joy in the sadness
You are

There is no one like our God
There is no one like our God

Daniel 9v4-6,9-10,18-19a

4 I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed:

“O Lord, you are a great and awesome God! You always fulfill your covenant and keep your promises of unfailing love to those who love you and obey your commands. 5 But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. 6 We have refused to listen to your servants the prophets, who spoke on your authority to our kings and princes and ancestors and to all the people of the land.

9 But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him. 10 We have not obeyed the Lord our God, for we have not followed the instructions he gave us through his servants the prophets.

18 “O my God, lean down and listen to me. Open your eyes and see our despair. See how your city—the city that bears your name—lies in ruins. We make this plea, not because we deserve help, but because of your mercy.

19 “O Lord, hear. O Lord, forgive. O Lord, listen and act! For your own sake, do not delay…

Daniel was living in Exile in Babylon. This was his prayer while living in a Godless city which the followers of God had limited ability to influence. What from Daniel’s prayer relates to us living in Hobart?

Requested Prayer:

Pray through the list of prayers requested on our Facebook page. Keep praying… More and more requests are coming through and many really need breakthroughs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pD3CkZ5NYQ5WV-xF5ToAcmTXz6OIKeF_vPChWvApURU

Pray that People Find Christ

Matt. 9:37–38: Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Pray for our Churches

Pray that denominational, theological, and social walls will come down so that pastors and members of different churches will love each other, pray together, and serve each other.

John 17:20–23: “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Ps. 133:1: How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

Pray for Families

Pray that Jesus will heal, restore, and strengthen every marriage and family. Pray that the hearts of parents will be tuned to their children’s needs, to love them and raise them in a God-honouring way. Pray that children will have their lives transformed by God’s love.

Pray for our Leaders

Pray that God will give them wisdom to make wise decisions and to govern with integrity, justice, and mercy.

1 Tim. 2:1–2: I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Hebrews 4:16

16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

“Father, thank you for loving us so much You sent Your only Son, Jesus to die for us and rise to life eternal. Thank you for your Holy Spirit. We acknowledge that we are sinners and that we rely on Jesus for salvation and eternal life. We confess we have fallen short of our calling in Christ and have wandered from our first love. Forgive us, in Jesus’ name. It is in His name alone we come boldly to ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit. Revive our hearts. Renew our spirits. Restore our joy. Refresh our zeal to love and serve the world You came to save. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

I love You Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship You
O my soul rejoice
Take joy my King
In what You hear
May it be a sweet sweet sound
In Your ear
